Started @ MIT, D’Angelo is the principle (only?) man involved with The Meta Technology, which purports to demystify the “searching experience” in a way that helps us better appreciate technology.

The one video I’ve seen is basic but conclusive: Google, among other engines, uses personal information, derived from your I.P. address (think of your IP address as your starting place on the internet), and it tells the engine where you are in the world, who’s providing you with access to the internet, and what language is probably your primary one.
